Mommy's marvellous munchies

This easy baby food is preservative free, tasty for the kids (and mommy's on the run I might add) and is nutrious. With the addition of marmite or bovril you add flavor to the meal without any unwanted salt which is known to be bad for baby's blood pressure. My 11 month old loves this meal.

Ingredients

2 Large Gem Squashes
2 Large Potatoes
3 Large Carrots
1 Large Chicken breast (skin and bone removed)
1 Teaspoon Marmite or Bovril
1 Table spoon butter (unsalted)

Directions

1. Peel potatoes and carrots, dice and place in unsalted water to boil.
2. Cut the Gems in half, remove pips and place in insalted water to boil.
3. Drizzle a little olive oil over the chicken breast and bake in an oven at 180 until cooked through (try keep the breast moist and try not to roast until golden, preferrably the breast should be soft and easily broken up).
4. When the carrots and potatoes are soft drain off all excess water and mash together in a pot or bowl (your baby's age will determine how soft you need to mash their food, I prefer to make mine a little chunky).
5. Remove Gems from skins when done and add to the potatoe and carrot mixure, stir well.
6. Shred the chicken breast into fine pieces and mix into the veggie mixture.
7. Stir in the butter and marmite / bovril.
8. Allow to cool and serve at room temperature.
