A wonderful recipe for doughy soft pretzel bread.
IngredientsAll purpose flour 3 cupsSugar 1/2 teaspoon sugar Baking soda 2.5teaspoons Salt Egg yolk 1 large, beaten Active dry yeast 2 teaspoons Unsalted butter, melted 2 tablespoons Vegetable oil 2 teaspoons Luke warm water Sesame seeds DirectionsCombine 1/4 cup of water, sugar and salt in a wide mouth bowl and sprinkle the yeast on top. Allow to sit for 5 minutes or until the mixture begins to foam.Mix baking soda and flour well. Then add the flour mixture and butter to the bowl with the yeast in it and knead well. Add some more water if required. Oil the dough with vegetable oil. Cover the dough with plastic wrap and place it in a warm place for approximately 50 to 55 minutes, or until the dough has doubled in size. Preheat the oven to 180C. Butter the baking sheet. Set aside. In the meantime, turn the dough onto a slightly oiled work surface and divide into 6 equal pieces. Return them to the cookie sheet, brush the tops with the egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Bake until golden brown in color, approximately 10 to 12 minutes.
